What Makes Our Coffee Different: The Equipment and Beans Behind Fork in the Road
"Coffee truck" and "coffee shop on wheels" sound similar, but they're not the same thing. The difference comes down to what's behind the counter. The equipment, the beans, and the care that goes into every cup. Here's a look at what we actually run, and why we chose it.
Five Things That Set Us Apart
The Espresso: Victoria Arduino Eagle One
An Italian-made, auto-volumetric espresso machine built for specialty coffee shops, high-volume cafés, and even barista competitors. Not the countertop machine you'd find at a typical coffee cart. Every shot is precisely dosed, so your espresso tastes just as good at the start of your event as it does hours later.
The Cold Brew: Marco POUR'D
Cold brew usually means 10-24 hours of prep and a cooler of coffee that gets watery by the afternoon. Our POUR'D system dispenses cold coffee fresh at the point of service, with dilution accuracy within about 2 ml, consistent café-quality cold brew from your first guest to your last.
The Beans: Rogue Traveler and Beyond
Behind every pour is our signature Rogue Traveler and Crossroads Espresso coffee, our own brand, roasted specifically for us. We're also part of a roaster collective, so we're not limited to one coffee. Every bean we serve is specialty-grade: carefully sourced, roasted properly, cupped for taste approval, and roasted to order rather than sitting on a shelf.
The Matcha
Our matcha drinks get the same attention to detail as our coffee. Quality ingredients, prepared with care, so guests who aren't coffee drinkers still get a specialty-level drink instead of an afterthought.
The Syrups
A lot of what makes or breaks a flavored latte comes down to the syrup, and most places use standard syrups with that artificial, chemical aftertaste. We use organic syrups instead, so your vanilla latte or seasonal specialty drink tastes like the real thing.
The Look
Even the trailer itself is built to feel like a real coffee shop, not a food truck. It's not your typical taco truck look. Instead of exposed metal siding, ours is finished with real siding, just like a small building.
Real siding, wood accents, and a 92" window built for connection.
Inside, you'll find wooden countertops and warm wood accents instead of stainless steel, plus a 92" window that opens the whole space up rather than a small service hatch, so we can have that personal connection with our customers. It's designed to look like a coffee shop that happens to be on wheels because that's exactly what it is.
Why the window matters
A small service hatch keeps you at a distance. Our 92" window is built to close that gap — so ordering your coffee feels like talking to a barista, not a vending machine.
Why It All Matters
Any of these pieces on their own — the machine, the cold brew system, the beans, the organic syrups, or the trailer itself would set us apart from a typical coffee cart. Together, they're the reason we call ourselves a coffee shop on wheels instead of a food truck.
The bottom line
When you book Fork in the Road Coffee, you're getting the same equipment, ingredients, and look you'd expect from a high-end café, just parked at your event instead of on a street corner.
Whether it's a wedding, a corporate event, a festival, or a private celebration, this is what's behind every cup we serve.
